Coming from the south (Gothenburg) – drive towards Oslo on the E6 and take exit 90 towards Tjörn, Orust, and Stenungsund. Continue driving on road 160 to Varekil, then take a left on to road 178 towards Ellös. Follow the road signs to Käringön/Gullholmen and Tuvesvik.
Coming from the north – driving on the E6, take exit 96 at Torp shopping center to road 161 and drive towards Orust. Take right at Henån, going towards Ellös. Drive through Ellös and then follow the road signs to Tuvesvik.
The ferry to Käringön departs from Tuvesvik on Orust, line 381. The ferry ride takes about 40-45 minutes with beautiful views of the archipelago.
